About Me
I'm a research assistant and freelance writer. My focus area is Africana history and culture: African American, the African diaspora and the African continent.
After more than two decades as a certified Project Management Professional (PMP), I turned the project management page and followed my long-standing passion for Africana history and culture—earning a BA in African and African American Studies from the University of Memphis in May 2025.
My academic work has centered on the founding and history of historically Black towns and communities in the United States, including a capstone project that culminated in researching the origin and history of twelve historically Black towns and communities. In addition, I've researched a life-long interest: the founding and governing of the nation of Tanzania under Julius Nyerere. Some of the results of these two projects are featured in this portfolio. See my Articles page for samples of this work.
I love transforming rigorous research into accessible content.
Whether collaborating with scholars, authors, nonprofits, or cultural institutions, I bring the precision, discipline and schedule management of a veteran project manager and the curiosity of a committed researcher—offering clear, timely, and thorough support rooted in both rigor and real-world reliability. See my Services page for more details on how I can assist you in your research projects or your content writing deadlines.
